Over 11,193 veterans and volunteers participated in IW hikes, mini-events, and alternative healing activities in 2024, adding to our 75,000 alumni. These gatherings helped struggling veterans rebuild their “emotional safety net” and reconnect with a supportive tribe. In 2024, IW mobilized over 200 volunteers in response to Hurricane Helene, delivering 10,000 pounds of critical supplies and distributing $1.8 million in Grunt Style clothing to affected communities. ADVOCACY

Veteran suicide rates are twice as high as those of civilians. Meanwhile, veterans are prescribed psychiatric medications at three times the civilian rate—many of which carry FDA warnings about increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

This crisis of overprescribing and unsafe mental health care is the veteran community’s worst-kept secret. The Grunt Style Foundation is confronting it head-on with The War Cry for Change: A Revolution to Reclaim Veteran Mental Health. This initiative empowers veterans, military families, and survivors to share their stories and advocate for safe, effective mental health treatments for all.
