Round Canopy Parachuting Team-USA (RCPT-USA)

During World War II the Office of Strategic Services, the precursor to our modern day CIA, was only 35% female personnel. Even so, those who made up that small percentage played a pivotal role during the war; qualified female paratroopers jumped into France as spies and after landfall swapped their uniforms for civilian attire to collect information behind enemy lines, despite knowing their lives could end at any moment. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Round Canopy Parachuting Team-USA (RCPT-USA) are taking flight to perform parachuting stunts, commemorating those fearless female freedom fighters who fought to restore peace on earth. RCPT-USA safely conducts round canopy, static line parachuting activities to reinforce the world-wide memory of the priceless deeds of valor and the selfless sacrifices made by so many paratroopers and veterans alike.

Rosie the Riveter: Mae Krier

“Rosie the Riveter” was the star of a campaign aimed at recruiting female workers for defense industries during World War II, and she became perhaps the most iconic image of working women.

American women entered the workforce in unprecedented numbers during the war, as widespread male enlistment left gaping holes in the industrial labor force. The women of that generation proved to be dedicated to their country through their perseverance and support during the war.

Mae Krier, a Pennsylvania native answered her nation's call during World War II and was instrumental in creating a movement that inspired the nation. She has helped create national recognition for all the rosiers, on National Rosie the Riveter Day which takes place on March 21st. Her legacy has left an inspirational figure of hope and strength for all women.
